Today's feature on new Gamasutra sister site Game Career Guide reviews Thomson Delmar’s “Game Development Essentials,” an ongoing series of books designed to introduce core concepts to the aspiring game developer. Reviewer Brad Kane sums up his assessment of the series in the following excerpt from the opening of his review: "Simply written and beautifully illustrated, this series of books is a great bet for shoring up your industry knowledge in anticipation of an illustrious development career. In addition to the clear presentation and ascetic appeal of these books, the series maintains a high standard of consistency from book to book. In the style of many textbooks, each chapter begins with “Key Questions” for readers/students to think about, and finishes with a full-page “Chapter Review” that could be used in the classroom or assigned for homework. Combined with clear, colorful formatting and organization, this series is a hot choice for either personal or academic use."
