GOG.com, a PC game digital distribution platform from Witcher developer CD-Projekt, announced an agreement with Epic Games to bring several titles from the studio's Unreal series to GOG.com. Under the agreement, GOG.com will offer Unreal Gold (including the Return to Napali expansion pack), Unreal Tournament: Game of the Year Edition, Unreal II: The Awakening Special Edition and Unreal Tournament 2004: Editor’s Choice Edition. The games will be available DRM-free and will be compatible with modern operating systems. GOG.com also intends to bundle in bonus materials with the titles, though those extras were not detailed. Currently available with a public beta, GOG.com, or Good Old Games, offers several vintage PC titles DRM-free, such as Black Isle's Fallout 2, Piranha Bytes's Freespace 2, and Bohemia Interactive's Operation Flashpoint. “Epic Games redefined the first-person shooter with the Unreal series, and we’re very happy to welcome them to the growing list of companies that share our vision of digital distribution,” says GOG.com managing director Adam Oldakowski. “We know that a lot of gamers have been waiting for new deals, and we’re sure that the Unreal games will satisfy their lust for alien blood and intense multiplayer action… DRM-free, of course.”
