Online registration is now open for the High School Gaming Academy, an introductory game design course to be held this summer at Harrisburg University of Science and Technology in Pennsylvania. The three-week summer commuter program covers game programming, 3D modeling, audio production, and level design. The program is led by Charles Palmer, executive director of Harrisburg's Center for Advanced Entertainment and Learning Technologies. Attending students will have weekly roundtable discussions with industry professionals, and will engage in collaborative efforts with other regional students interested in pursuing a career the games industry. Classes are open to students entering 10th, 11th or 12th grade. Class size is limited to 12 students for each of two planned sessions. Session 1 is scheduled for June 21 through July 9, 2010. Session 2 is scheduled for July 12 – July 30, 2010. Parents can apply for the summer course at http://www.harrisburgu.edu/theAcademy.
