Interactive education solutions developer Hybrid Learning Systems announced that it has purchased the assets of serious games creator ImpactGames, and now owns the rights to the popular Peacemaker and Play the News games. Play the News offers players a unique perspective on everyday news items, and encourages active engagement with world events through interactive gaming elements. Peacemaker, an educational game inspired by the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, allows users to assume a leadership role in the Middle East and guide the region to prosperity. "This is a great opportunity for Hybrid Learning Systems," said Hybrid president and CEO Kris Rockwell. "The serious game and social game markets are in a huge period of growth. By acquiring Peacemaker and Play the News, we are not only investing in award-winning game platforms, but we are also promoting important games for change, which can have a social impact regarding serious issues around the world." Rockwell notes that Hybrid now plans to port PeaceMaker and Play the News to web-focused learning formats and to mobile platforms.
