In-game advertising network Double Fusion has attracted a new funding round, and promoted existing executive Alex Sood to the role of CEO, replacing departing CEO Jonathan Epstein. The company, which has offices in cities including Jerusalem and San Francisco, didn't say how much money it raised in its latest round, but did reveal that Jerusalem Venture Partners led the financing. JVP has been a Double Fusion investor in previous funding rounds as well. Before becoming CEO, Sood served as head of Double Fusion's Asian division. Former CEO Jonathan Epstein, known as a founder of consumer site GameSpot and later a longtime GameSpy executive, has reportedly left the company for unspecified reasons after serving with Double Fusion for nearly four years. Double fusion says it will use its new funding to "develop its position as the entry point for advertisers to reach the highly attractive gaming demographic." "The ongoing confidence and support of our investors ensures our ability to shape the future of in-game advertising," said new CEO Sood. "We’re excited about the future of in-game advertising. The market is showing real traction and acceptance for in-game advertising as a must-have media for brands looking to reach a core demographic target."
