LifeStudio:Head SDK now supports Windows, PlayStation 2 and Xbox platforms that allows game developers and 3D artists to create sequences in games and combines automated lip-synch with nonlinear facial animation in real-time. LifeStudio:Head was first conceived in 2000. The multi-platform SDK is a high-end software tool kit for creating heads and contains a comprehensive package of features and character libraries. The development of this software has been made under tools and middleware license agreement with Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. and fully supported by the Xbox video game system from Microsoft. LifeStudio:Head allows 3D artists to create characters that can grow older or younger, change their look and shape (for example, they can mutate) and so on. Due to a very exact and accurate lip-synch technology, the characters are free to speak any languages, whereas the speech animation can be blended with other facial animations. LifeStudio:Head provides a wide set of emotions which can be easily handled by AI by means of calling LSHEAD API in real time. What is more important is the possibility of emotions exchange between the characters, the use of dynamic textures and the change of LOD models in the course of the game.
