Lost Boys Games revealed its plans for licensing out its Core Engine Technology. Lost Boys Games’ new venture plans to use and adapt its existing 3D technology for other game development studios, and hopes to tap into other, non-game related industries by using the engine as a visual realization tool. The Core Engine is a 3D game engine, which has been developed in house by Lost Boys Games. The engine, which is the basis for several titles currently being produced in the studio, has been in constant development for over a year. The company says its engine can offer a fully regulated workflow from day one of the development cycle whilst cutting development time by up to 50%. The key feature of the engine is its flexibility, which allows it to be used for virtually any type of game, giving the developer all the benefits of working with an existing engine. Lost Boys Games is currently developing titles for Playstation 2, Xbox and Game Boy Advance, and is planning to start working on versions of its titles for Gamecube later on this year. The Core Engine is currently compatible with both Playstation 2 and PC, with Xbox modifications currently in development.
