Alias Systems has released two new DVD titles aimed squarely at game developers using Maya. The two new titles cover game-specific character articulation and environment creation. Maya Techniques: Character Articulation for Games covers techniques for balancing ease of articulation with game engine functionality, facial animation, and the differences between pre-rendered content and real-time rendering. Maya Techniques: Developing an Environment Toolkit is authored by Nathan Martz and presents you with a toolkit of techniques for using Maya’s API for the development of game scenes and the interaction of objects therein. Both titles sell for $130 and require Maya Complete or Maya Unlimited, version 4.5 or higher, and bring the total number of Alias’ Maya game development training DVD titles to three, joining Maya Techniques: Introducing MEL for Games, which lists for $50.
