mental ray Renderer Now Free To Maya Users

Alias|Wavefront announced that mental ray for Maya, a separate plug-in renderer for Maya developed by mental images, will be free to all Maya Complete and Maya Unlimited customers. The mental ray for Maya plug-in had been priced at $3,995. The offer applies to all Maya users who are working on Maya 4.5 or newer. The latest version of the renderer, mental ray for Maya 1.5 (a public beta), can be downloaded at http://www.aliaswavefront.com/maya/getmental.
