Microsoft has announced that March 10th will see the release of the first downloadable content for BioWare's Mass Effect RPG, with "Bring Down the Sky", featuring a new world to explore, with its own unique alien race. The publisher says the pack will introduce the Batarians, a "notorious and feared alien race." The pack's storyline will concern an "extremist group" of the aliens that has "hijacked a mobile asteroid station in the Asgard system, setting it on a collision course with the nearby colony world of Terra Nova." Players will lead Commander Shepard to "save the millions of innocent civilians before the asteroid completes its deadly descent." Microsoft says the pack will be the first in a planned series of downloadable content packs, and will be priced at 400 Microsoft Points ($5), containing some 90 minutes of gameplay and a new 50 point Achievement.
