Microsoft has announced plans to 'bring GDC home' to its Xbox Live members with Xbox 360 related video coverage, screenshots, and demos from the 2008 Game Developers Conference, including the keynote from its Live corporate VP John Schappert, 'A Future Wide Open: Unleashing the Creative Community.' Microsoft says Schappert's keynote "will provide an exciting view into this year’s plans for Microsoft’s Interactive Entertainment Business," and plans to make video highlights of the address available on the Xbox Live Marketplace. Other material available will include "never-before-seen gameplay, demos, screenshots, game trailers and interviews from the GDC show floor." Microsoft has consistently used Xbox Live as a promotional tool for live event coverage since its first "Bringing It Home" campaign for the 2006 E3, as well as more recent events like the Tokyo Game Show. The company said Xbox Live members downloaded over 5 million pieces of gaming and entertainment content for that first E3, amounting to more than 600 terabytes of data, and saw traffic on Xbox.com double during the week, driving more than six million unique users to the site.
