Midway Games confirmed that it laid off 30 employees from its San Diego office, also known as Midway Home Entertainment.
The staff reduction amounts to about 5% of its total workforce, and a company representative said that the layoffs came from a number of different departments. The layoffs follow the company's warning to investors that it would post a loss in Q4. Midway blamed the anticipated loss on poor sales of several recently released games.
