Midway has announced that it has hired Codemasters vet Craig Duncan as the head of its Newcastle studio, where he will be responsible for overseeing development on its Wheelman franchise, and all future Newcastle titles. Midway notes Craig has more than a decade of senior management experience, most recently overseeing worldwide product development during his five years at Codemasters. The Newcastle studio was originally acquired in 2005 and was formerly known as Pitbull Syndicate, which previously worked on L.A. Rush for the publisher. Midway says the office works with its London head office as well as its U.S. studios in sharing its common technology and talent across internal projects. Said interim CEO Matt Booty, "We're very excited to announce the appointment of Craig Duncan as our Newcastle studio head. We are confident that Craig's strong background along with his creative and technical expertise will further enhance the quality of upcoming games like Wheelman."
