Behavioral security software company Sana Security has announced that online game publisher NCsoft Europe has chosen Sana's SafeConnect application as a deterrent against malicious software whilst playing online. Sana notes that many gamers turn off their anti-virus software when playing online as they "continually seek to squeeze the greatest performance out of their systems," leaving them open to vulnerabilities in various other PC applications. Sana says its SafeConnect software "detects and removes malicious software, including difficult new variants designed to steal password and identity information via 'phishing,' spyware, malware and other methods." It adds that NCsoft Europe chose the package for both its effectiveness and extremely low impact on memory and CPU performance. Said NCsoft Europe business development manager Mark Heath, “Our subscribers recognize that, while our service is completely secure, they may be exposed to security risks that can find their way in via other applications. We chose Sana’s Primary Response SafeConnect because it provides an extra layer of security with far less performance degradation– factors that best meet the highly demanding needs of our players.”
