EA Sports' 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa debuted at the top of the weekly sales charts in the UK, knocking off Ubisoft's Splinter Cell Conviction for the week ended May 1, Chart-Track said Tuesday. In the prior two weeks, Splinter Cell Conviction topped the UK's all-platforms charts, followed by Ubisoft's Wii-exclusive Just Dance at number two. In the two weeks before that, Just Dance was at the top of the charts, meaning Ubisoft led the UK weekly sales charts for four weeks straight before the release of the new FIFA. 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa is a World Cup-themed version of FIFA 10, which Chart-Track said is the 10th-best-selling game ever in the UK. 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa sales equaled 15 percent of FIFA 10's launch week sales. The PlayStation 3 version of the soccer game made up 48 percent of the game's sales, while the Xbox 360 version made up 47 percent. PSP and Wii sales made up the rest.
