Publisher NCsoft has announced that former North American president Robert Garriott has taken a new position as head of global business development and planning, as previous worldwide product VP Chris Chung moves to take his former position. The publisher says Garriott will remain at the company's Austin office, and will work closely with CEO Taek Jin Kim. Both Garriott and Chung will make the transition as of January 1st. Chung was formerly studio manager with NCsoft subsidiary ArenaNet, where the company says he helped launch the Guild Wars franchise, before becoming chief publishing officer at its Seoul, Korea headquarters. Said Taek Jin Kim, “We’re extremely pleased with Robert’s plans to become more involved with our global business development. The future for NCsoft is very bright and his leadership in this area will be a huge step forward for the company. Chris Chung is a strong leader who has been successful at every one of his stops at NCsoft. He’ll be a perfect fit for the North American publishing business.”
