Total sales of the Nintendo DS line -- DSi LL, DSi and DS Lite -- led all other platforms in Japan this week, while Sony's PSP and PlayStation 3 saw a sales boost, according to tracking firm Media Create. For the week ended October 17, the PSP-3000 sold 37,127 units, approximately a 4,000 unit increase from last week, and the PS3 saw a roughly 2,000 unit increase, jumping from number four to number two on the charts. The two systems led the individual platform sales charts. The PSP Go also experienced a sales boost this week, jumping from 1,373 units last week to 1,715 units. Nintendo's DS hardware sales remained constant this week, with most versions of the hardware performing as they did last week. The only DS hardware to see a notable change was the DSi, which sold roughly 1,500 fewer units than last week, and dropped to number four. Total sales of the DS line were 47,101, still enough to lead on the all-platforms list. All other platforms saw steady sales, leaving the overall platform rankings largely unchanged. Below are the full sales rankings from Media Create for the week ended October 17, 2010. (The second chart lumps together sales of all models in a given line of hardware.)
