The Nintendo DS continues its lead on the Japanese hardware sales charts this week, while the PSP closes the gap, reaching the number spot two after a recent sales boost, reports tracking firm Media Create. For the week ended September 26, the Nintendo DS line tops the charts with 89,199 units sold across all versions, with the DSi leading the pack at 49,411 units sold. The PSP receives a sales increase this week to 37,576 units, a roughly 7,500 unit increase from last week, which correlates with the release of Sega's Black Leopard: A New Tale of Yakuza, which hit the number two spot on the Japanese software charts this week. After a brief sales spike last week, Xbox 360 sales drop again in wake of Halo: Reach's release. Sales for all other platforms remained consistent from last week, leaving the hardware rankings largely unchanged. Below are the full sales rankings from Media Create for the week ended September 26, 2010. (The second chart lumps together sales of all models in a given line of hardware.)
