Following the release of February's NPD sales figures, Nintendo has trumpeted its chart topping hardware, and said four of every 10 games sold in the month were for its systems. The company notes that with more than 1 million combined hardware units sold, Nintendo accounted for 47.6 percent of all hardware sales for the month. Nintendo DS games, it added, topped all software sales for the month with 3.6 million combined units, and 2.9 million units for the Wii, leading to the above four out of 10 figure. Keen to point to third party success as well as its own, it added that with three games in the top ten sellers released for Nintendo systems, two were from third parties (Mario & Sonic, Guitar Hero III). Said executive sales VP Cammie Dunaway, "Our momentum has not let up since the holidays and we expect it to continue throughout the year. We have the industry's strongest lineup of games for everyone from core to casual gamers."
