Nintendo of America confirmed on Tuesday exactly which titles will be available on the 3DS' launch day on March 27 in North America, including several titles from third-party game companies. Nintendo plans to release three first-party launch day titles, including "aerial adventure" game Pilotwings Resort, strategy and combat submarine game Steel Diver and pet simulator Nintendogs + cats, which will have three versions. Later in the year, Nintendo said it will release 3DS games The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D, Star Fox 64 3D, Kid Icarus: Uprising and "new installments in the Mario Kart series." Several titles will also be available on launch day from major third-party publishers, as Nintendo attempts to shed the notion that its platforms are less hospitable to external game makers. Third-party launch games include Capcom's Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition, EA Sports' Madden NFL Football and Ubisoft's Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Shadow Wars. The handheld will also come preloaded with games and apps including face photo manipulator Face Raiders, Mii Maker, which converts photos of people into Mii avatars, and six augmented reality cards. Nintendo 3DS Sound has tools that let users manipulate sound from MP3 or AAC files. The handheld is also compatible with "nearly every" game for the current Nintendo DS. The 3DS will cost $250 at launch in North America. The handheld's main distinguishing feature is glasses-free stereoscopic 3D. The full list of North American day-one launch games is below. Nintendo said more than 30 games will be available by early June. All games below will retail for $39.99: First-party: Pilotwings Resort Steel Diver Nintendogs + cats Third Party: Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition (Capcom) The Sims 3 (EA) Madden NFL Football (EA Sports) Pro Evolution Soccer 2011 3D (Konami) Lego Star Wars III: The Clone Wars (LucasArts) Ridge Racer 3D (Namco Bandai) Super Monkey Ball 3D (Sega) Bust-A-Move Universe (Square Enix) Samurai Warriors: Chronicles (Tecmo Koei) Asphalt 3D (Ubisoft) Combat of Giants: Dinosaurs 3D (Ubisoft) Rayman 3D (Ubisoft) Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Shadow Wars (Ubisoft)
