Officials from Nintendo of America (NoA) have announced the hiring of two new executive vice presidents, following the departure of a number of staff due to the relocation of the company’s marketing headquarters to New York and California. Cammie Dunaway will become the company’s new executive vice president of sales and marketing and will report directly to NoA president Reggie Fils-Aime. Dunaway will take up her new position on November 5th and will be responsible for all sales and marketing activities for Nintendo in the United States, Canada and Latin America. She fills the position vacated when Fils-Aime was promoted to his current positions in May 2006. Dunaway’s last position was as chief marketing officer for Yahoo!, where she oversaw the business’ ten year anniversary campaign - for which she received a 2006 Gold Reggie Award from the Promotional Marketing Association. At the same time Shigeyuki Takahashi becomes the company’s new executive vice president, special assignment. Takahashi will report to Tatsumi Kimishima, NoA's chairman and CEO. Starting from November 1st, he will, according to a NoA press release: “conduct special research activities and provide perspective to the sales and marketing department using his accumulated knowledge”. Takahashi will also support Kimishima regarding Nintendo's future business expansion plans. He joined Nintendo in 2006 and most recently served as the president of Nintendo Research Inc., where he was in charge of conducting research activities for the company’s future business expansion in North America. Both new executives will work from Nintendo's new Silicon Valley offices in Redwood Shores, California, rather than from the company’s traditional base in Redmond, Washington. The change in location for the company’s marketing team has led to a number of high profile exits in recent weeks, including long serving figureheads George Harrison, Perrin Kaplan and Beth Llewelyn.
