Sales figures released by Japanese research group Media Create have revealed that Nintendo are once again the number one game publisher in Japan, during the fiscal year ended March 31. During this period Nintendo sold 6.5 million units of software, with key titles being Mario Kart: Double Dash!! and Mario Party 5. Square Enix were ranked second in the table with 4 million units of sales. At the same time it was revealed that total software sales in Japan during the fiscal year dropped by 1.7% from the previous year to 55.2 million units. Source: Polygon
