Sony's PSP-3000 sold the most units on a per-platform basis in Japan for the week ended April 11, but combined sales of Nintendo's DS line topped charts for the second week running. The combined sales of the Nintendo DS Lite, DSi and DSi LL were 36,459, tracking firm Media Create reported Friday. Individually, the DSi LL sold 19,372, DSi sold 13,738 and DS Lite sold 3,349. The PSP-3000 sold 29,766 units and the UMD-less PSP Go sold 1,826 during the week for a total of 31,592. Sales of all hardware except for the relatively low-selling Xbox 360 and PSP Go dropped week-on-week. PS3 sales were particularly notable with a drop of about 10,000 units from last week. Over recent weeks, the console enjoyed a sales boost thanks in large part to the release of the PS3 DVR add-on called Torne. Below are the full sales rankings from Media Create for the week ended April 11, 2010. (The second chart lumps together sales of all models in a given line of hardware.)
