Games published or co-published by Nintendo top the list of best-selling games in the United Kingdom for the first half of 2009, according to GfK Chart-Track. Nintendo holds six of the top ten software slots, with Wii Fit, Wii Play, and Mario Kart Wii in the first three positions, and representing sales of 1.65 million units together. Also on this list at number seven is Dr. Kawashima's Brain Training (Brain Age in North America), which has achieved lifetime-to-date sales of over 3 million, making it the region's most popular title ever. No games from other publishers enter the list until number five with Sony and Guerrilla Games' Killzone 2. The other non-Nintendo titles on the list are Capcom's Resident Evil 5 for Xbox 360, EA's The Sims 3 for PC, and Activision and Treyarch's Call of Duty: World at War. The full top ten list is as follows: - 1. Wii Fit (Wii) - 2. Wii Play (Wii) - 3. Mario Kart Wii (Wii) - 4. Professor Layton and the Curious Village (DS) - 5. Killzone 2 (PS3) - 6. Resident Evil 5 (Xbox 360) - 7. Dr Kawashima's Brain Training (DS) - 8. The Sims 3 (PC) - 9. Call of Duty: World At War (Xbox 360) - 10. Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games (Wii) When looking at combined-platform charts, as provided to GamesIndustry.biz, Nintendo still heads up the list with Wii Fit. It no longer controls the top four, but still holds five of the ten slots. On a multiplatform basis, EA Canada's FIFA 09 (which didn't make the single-platform list on any format) for seven platforms comes in second, followed by Call of Duty: World at War for six platforms. The multiplatform top ten list is as follows: - 1. Wii Fit (Wii) - 2. FIFA 09 (Xbox 360/PS3/PSP/Wii/PS2/DS/PC) - 3. Call Of Duty: World At War (Xbox 360/PS3/WII/PS2/PC/DS) - 4. Resident Evil 5 (Xbox360/PS3) - 5. Wii Play (Wii) - 6. Mario Kart Wii (Wii) - 7. Professor Layton And The Curious Village (DS) - 8. Mario & Sonic At The Olympic Games (Wii/DS) - 9. Street Fighter IV (PS3/Xbox 360) - 10. Guitar Hero: World Tour (Wii/Xbox 360/PS3/PS2)
