Obituary: Shadow of Mordor executive producer Michael Forgey

Gamasutra learned last week that longtime producer and engineer Michael Forgey passed away on Thursday after a nearly year-long bout with cancer.

The news comes courtesy of an update to the YouCaring page set up by a friend and coworker to raise money for Forgey's treatment and his family's wellbeing. 

Forgey is known best for serving as the executive producer on Monolith Productions' 2014 hit Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor.

Prior to that he worked at Microsoft as a producer on multiple Gears of War games and a test lead on games like Viva Pinata and Voodoo Vince.
