The controllers created to pair with the Oculus Rift VR headset can be picked up for $200, which includes two controllers and an additional sensor for room-scale VR.
Newsbrief: Oculus Touch, the motion controllers created to pair with the Rift VR headset, have finally released today after first being announced last June.
The Touch controllers are set up to enable what Oculus calls “hand presence” in VR games. While using the Touch, sensors within the controller itself are able to detect basic finger motions, making grabbing objects in VR more akin to grabbing objects in reality.
The Oculus Touch runs for $199 and can currently be ordered from Oculus’ online store. That pricetag includes two controllers and an additional external sensor, since the Touch requires at least two sensors for use.
If you're curious to see how they work, Kotaku has a pretty good review that also includes some truly excellent gifs.
