Oregon3D announced the opening of the company's Center for Visualization Technologies in Portland, OR, which offers 3D courses in 3D modeling, animation, special visual effects, editing, and compositing. Taught by certified and industry professionals, Oregon3D offers courses on products from Alias|Wavefront, discreet, REAL VIZ, and Right Hemisphere. The courses are typically four or five days long, and involve hands-on training. Oregon3D also plans to open a service bureau, which will make the Center's facilities and Visualization Room available for use on a contract basis. The visualization room is configured for developers and simulation developers who want to stage demonstrations for clients, or do virtual training. The first series of training classes at Oregon3D's new facility began in April 2002. The entire facility and the service bureau will officially open to the public in September 2002.
