Game industry outsourcing company Babel said it is teaming up with the widely referenced Japan-based market intelligence firm Enterbrain to "supply focus testing and localization services to Enterbrain’s customer base." Babel CEO Richard Leinfellner said the fruits of the partnership -- localized research for Enterbrain's clients -- could help Japanese developers create games for a more global audience. "The hot topic for Japanese developers is how to make successful games for the western markets," he said. "This partnership means that Enterbrain and Babel can provide all the knowledge and services required to help those developers be successful." Babel has performed localization, QA, certification, audio, and print services for a number of major industry publishers and developers including Electronic Arts, SCEA, SCEE, SCEJ, SEGA, Nintendo, Microsoft, THQ, Atari, Ubisoft, Eidos, Capcom, Nokia, Activision Blizzard, Namco Bandai, and others. Babel said it signed five new projects at the recent Tokyo Game Show. UK-based Babel, which has offices in Japan, said it is currently discussing "several" joint projects with its Tokyo-based localization partner Entalize. Global outsourcing firm Quatrro acquired Babel in 2008. "Japanese publishers and developers have really valued our 'local' approach to their global deployment challenges," Leinfellner added. "Our team there has a decade of Japanese game studio delivery experience so they deeply understand how to optimize what we do to meet to our clients needs at the highest level of quality." "Being part of the community in Japan, with great partners who share the same vision and having great clients, some for over eight years, is exactly what our global strategy is all about: act local."
