Ouya's future may be one of multiple hardware and distributed play, says CEO Julie Uhrman, indicating that the company is in talks with a number of cloud gaming providers to diversify content on the platform. "There is absolutely a role for cloud gaming on Ouya," Uhrman said in an interview with Venture Beat. "It would bring content to Ouya that our hardware may not support today, but that will play wonderfully -- and were built to be played in the cloud." Though Ouya's early partnership with OnLive has not seen fruit -- due to the latter company falling on hard times -- Uhrman said that the company was in talks with "all" the major cloud gaming providers over possibly bringing their services to Ouya. Meanwhile, Uhrman anticipated that the next wave of Ouya consoles may not be through Ouya itself, but through third parties. "What's most valuable about Ouya is the community and our relationship between gamers and developers," said Uhrman. "So, yes, if there is a partner product on the market with the exact same specifications -- so there's no fragmentation for the developer -- would I be open to putting the Ouya storefront on it? Absolutely."
