Applications are now being accepted for the Penny Arcade Scholarship, a yearly award granted by online comic and gaming industry proponent Penny Arcade. The $10,000 scholarship will be awarded to one selected applicant for the 2009-2010 academic year. The scholarship is being offered to full-time students intending to enter the video games industry after graduation. Applicants must have a current minimum GPA of 3.3, and can major in any field. Applications for the award must include a two-page essay describing the applying student's current study plan and future intent to benefit the games industry. Applicants must also include two letters of recommendation and a current academic transcript. Students may submit applications at Penny Arcade's website. The submission deadline is June 15th.
