Vivendi announced that Tom Petit has been named Vice President of Console, a position in which he will direct the company's retail sales, as well as oversee channel marketing for products on the the Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft platforms.
A 20-year veteran of the interactive entertainment industry, Petit will report to Philip W. O'Neil, Senior Vice President of Sales, VUIPNA. Petit will help develop VUIPNA's affiliate label business, which includes such recently announced partners as Fox Interactive and Empire Interactive. Previously, Petit was President of Acclaim Entertainment's LBE division, President of Sega Enterprises, Director of National Sales for Nintendo of America, and a sales executive at Atari.
