Product: Strata Releases Three New 3D Applications

Tools company Strata has announced the release of three new products for 3D development, including Live 3D, Strata 3D CX v.5.0, and Strata Foto 3D. Strata Live 3D is a real-time 3D application that can be used to create content for the web, Macromedia Flash and PDF documents. Strata Live 3D creates content useful for marketing projects, online catalogs, training manuals, design presentations and more. Based on Java, Live 3D content requires no plug-in to run and works on virtually any machine. Strata 3D CX v.5.0, the latest release of Strata’s flagship product, adds more power to the software's modeling, rendering, animation, and workflow management tools. In addition, the interface and tools have been improved to be even more familiar to current Adobe customers. Strata 3D CX v.5.0 touts a number of new features, including the ability to render to layers. Now with version 5.0 users can render out a 3D layered Photoshop file, with every component of the image - such as specular highlights, reflections, scene depth, shadows and transparency – rendered to separate layers. Strata 3D CX v.5.0 also adds the ability to Render to Strata Live 3D. Strata also released Strata Foto 3D, a tool for converting still images into a high quality, fully textured 3D mesh. Strata Foto 3D uses pictures of any object, which are taken from a number of viewpoints, to automatically build a 3D model. Strata Foto 3D exports standard file formats and connects to Strata 3D CX as well as other 3D packages. Strata Foto 3D models can then be used for real-time applications such as games web presentations using Strata Live 3D.
