Production House Mothership Adds Game Vet Rich Flier As Executive Producer

Game industry veteran Rich Flier has joined media production house Mothership as an executive producer, bringing 15 years of marketing and game development experience along with him.

Game industry veteran Rich Flier has joined media production house Mothership as an executive producer, bringing 15 years of marketing and game development experience along with him. Flier comes to Mothership from Secret Identity, a marketing company he co-founded and worked at while also serving as vice president of interactive entertainment as 3DV systems, whose technology was later sold to Microsoft and used in the company's Kinect 3D camera controller. His career also includes marketing positions at Dreamworks Interactive and Sony Online Entertainment, and collaborations with a variety of major game publishers. His first position nthe industry was with Looking Glass Technologies. At Mothership, Flier will lead game marketing initiatives, working directly with developers and publishers on cinematics, commercials and other marketing content. He also hinted that the company was "building its expertise in transmedia with an eye on developing original IP." Mothership's video game work includes direction and visual effects work on marketing efforts for Gears of War 3, Halo 3, TRON: Evolution, Bulletstorm, Killzone 3, and the Elder Scrolls series. "Our intention for 2011 is to expand our core marketing capabilities across multiple platforms with a heavy focus on games and mobile, and Rich is a rock star in this space," Mothership President Ed Ulbrich said. "He has videogame production experience and has worked on huge games properties as a brand strategist and marketer."
