Sony's PlayStation 3 led the Japanese hardware charts this week, as nearly all platforms saw a noticeable decline in sales, reports tracking firm Media Create. For the week ended January 16, the PS3 sold 33,190 units, just over half of what the platform sold last week. Despite declining sales, the PS3 topped the combined versions of the Nintendo DS on the overall platforms chart. Sales of the standard PSP hardware remained steady, though the PSP go saw a drop in sales of roughly 70 percent, falling to the bottom of the charts with 1,208 units sold. The Nintendo Wii saw the most drastic sales drop, selling approximately 35,000 less units than last week. The Nintendo DS line also experienced a notable sales dip, with the DSi LL and the DSi selling approximately 25,000 fewer units.
