The Sony PSP hardware line edged out the Nintendo DS family by a margin of less than 200 units in Japan for the week ended April 25, tracking firm Media Create reported on Friday. Total PSP sales were 30,302 units, which includes 28,758 units of the PSP-3000 and 1,544 units of the newer UMD drive-less PSP Go. That's compared to combined DS sales of 30,105, a total that includes 16,676 units of DSi LL, 10,640 of DSi and 2,789 of DS Lite. The PSP managed to break a three-week run that saw the Nintendo DS on top of the sales charts. Overall, sales were steady week-on-week, with no major fluctuations. Below are the full sales rankings from Media Create for the week ended April 25, 2010. (The second chart lumps together sales of all models in a given line of hardware.)
