Officials from Sony have announced that the newly redesigned PSP Slim and Lite console has sold over 1 million units in the two months since its successful launch in Japan – two weeks sooner than the original version of the console three years ago. As a result, the company is maintaining its forecasts of 10 million units of the PSP (both versions) sold worldwide by the financial year ending March 2008. This compares to Nintendo’s target of 28 million Nintendo DS.
