Gamasutra's regular round-up of worldwide video game releases, "Release This!", takes a look at every game title we know to be shipping to stores this week, in an exclusively compiled list. An expansive multiplatform lineup awaits gamers this week in the United States, where titles like Mario Super Sluggers, Infinite Undiscovery, and Tales of Vesperia are set to hit store shelves in the coming days. UK retailers will soon receive Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09 and The Sims 2: Apartment Life, while Afrika and Captain Rainbow highlight Japan's weekly offerings. The following list covers all of the game software we know to be available -- across all platforms and regions -- for the week ending August 30th, 2008. Games Released in the United States:

North America's recent run of mediocre release lineups ends this week with a large and varied selection of titles debuting across all platforms. The week is a particularly strong one for RPGs, as the Xbox 360 is set to receive both Namco Bandai's anticipated Tales of Vesperia and Square Enix's Infinite Undiscovery, while PS3 owners prepare for the release of Nippon Ichi's strategy-RPG sequel Disgaea 3: Absence of Justice. Sports titles will also arrive in plenty this week, with EA's multiplatform Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09 and Mario Super Sluggers hitting consoles while Konami's MLB Power Pros franchise makes its portable debut on the Nintendo DS. Other portable highlights include a new DS edition in the Harvest Moon series and PSP and DS ports of the Xbox Live Arcade hit N+.

Games Released in Europe:

Europe shares a selection of this week's most anticipated worldwide releases with North America, as Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09 and The Sims 2: Apartment Life are scheduled to debut soon in both regions. The UK additionally boasts a lineup of region-exclusive DS releases this week, including Driving Theory Training and Mary King's Riding School. Games Released in Japan:

Sony's awaited PlayStation 3 title Afrika makes its worldwide debut in Japan this week, joining a PS3 port of EA's Battlefield: Bad Company. On other platforms, the Xbox 360 receives a localization of Too Human and a port of the popular PC adventure title Clannad, while Wii owners anticipate the release of the Nintendo-published Captain Rainbow. On portables, Nintendo DS users prepare for a week of anime-licensed games and budget releases, while Capcom's 3D fighter sequel Fate/Tiger Colosseum Upper debuts as the week's sole PSP offering.
