Gamasutra's regular round-up of worldwide video game releases, "Release This!", takes a look at every game title we know to be shipping to stores this week, in an exclusively compiled list. A large number of new releases are scheduled to hit North America in the coming week, with highlights including Left 4 Dead, Tomb Raider Underworld, and Animal Crossing: City Folk. Europe will soon get an early look at LocoRoco 2, while Japan gets the long-awaited Nintendo DS remake of Chrono Trigger. The following list covers all of the game software we know to be available -- across all platforms and regions -- for the week ending November 22nd, 2008. Games Released in the United States:

Tomb Raider Underworld, Left 4 Dead, and Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe figure among the many anticipated multiplatform titles hitting store shelves in the United States this week. A number of awaited platform-exclusive titles are also set to debut in the coming days. Wii owners can expect to see Animal Crossing: City Folk, Castlevania: Judgment, and Cooking Mama World Kitchen. The Xbox 360 will soon receive Square Enix's The Last Remnant and karaoke sim Lips, while the PlayStation 3 gets an upgraded port of Atari's Alone in the Dark. The Nintendo DS will see a busy release week as well, with notable premieres including the side-scrolling shooter sequel Metal Slug 7, Harvest Moon subseries sequel Rune Factory 2, and Guitar Hero: On Tour Decades. Games Released in Europe:

Sony's action-puzzler sequel LocoRoco 2 premieres in the UK this week, arriving several days in advance of its scheduled Japanese release date. Codemasters' multiplatform action-RPG Rise of the Argonauts is also set to make its worldwide debut in the UK this week. Europe otherwise shares many of this week's planned releases with the United States, including highlights like Left 4 Dead, Need for Speed Undercover, and Tomb Raider Underworld. Games Released in Japan:

Konami's Gradius series follow-up Otomedius Gorgeous is set to hit the Xbox 360 in Japan this week, arriving alongside anticipated console offerings like The Last Remnant and MotorStorm 2. On portables, the Nintendo DS will soon host a remake of the classic Super NES RPG Chrono Trigger, while PSP owners will see a new Gundam-licensed title, Clank & Ratchet: Maru Hi Mission * Ignition (Secret Agent Clank), and the Disgaea spinoff action game Prinny: Ore ga Shujinkou de Iinsuka?
