Gamasutra's regular round-up of worldwide video game releases, "Release This!", takes a look at every game title we know to be shipping to stores this week, in an exclusively compiled list. This week's worldwide release lineup features the North American debut of Too Human on the Xbox 360, while PC owners receive The Sims 2 expansion pack Apartment Life. J-League Winning Eleven 2008 Club Championship highlights console offerings in Japan, meanwhile, as Inazuma Eleven premieres on the Nintendo DS. The following list covers all of the game software we know to be available -- across all platforms and regions -- for the week ending August 23rd, 2008. Games Released in the United States:
Silicon Knights' long-awaited action-adventure epic Too Human headlines North America's cross-platform release lineup this week, debuting on the Xbox 360 alongside Namco Bandai's Smash Court Tennis 3. New releases are scarce on other platforms, though PC gamers will enjoy a variety of new content including the latest The Sims 2 expansion pack Apartment Life and the re-released and extended Two Worlds: Epic Edition. Next week is expected to bring a greater selection of multiplatform offerings, including Tales of Vesperia and Tiger Woods 09 for the Xbox 360, Super Mario Sluggers for the Nintendo Wii, and Time Hollow and Harvest Moon: Island of Happiness for the Nintendo DS. Games Released in Europe:
While a handful of titles are scheduled to debut for the Nintendo DS in the UK this week, no other platform will see a new release until next week. Multiplatform European releases for next week will feature Bangai-O Spirits and Imagine: Teacher on the Nintendo DS, while console releases are set to include Too Human and the previously delayed Baroque. Few titles are scheduled to hit store shelves in what is set to be another slow Japanese release week. Console offerings for this week include a PlayStation 3 port of Vampire Rain and the adventure series sequel Memories Off 6: Trial Wave for the PS2, while Square Enix's Sigma Harmonics and the Level 5-developed Inazuma Eleven serve as highlights on the Nintendo DS. Next week will bring the Wii release of Nintendo's Captain Rainbow, while Xbox 360 owners will see a port of the popular PC adventure title Clannad.
