Gamasutra's regular round-up of worldwide video game releases, "Release This!", takes a look at every game title we know to be shipping to stores this week, in an exclusively compiled list. While other regions continue to recover in the wake of the holiday season, North America will soon see major multiplatform releases like NFL Tour and Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity. Worldwide release schedules will continue to expand throughout January. The following list covers all of the game software we know to be available -- across all platforms and regions -- for the week ending January 12th, 2008. Games Released in the United States:

After several weeks of inactivity, North America returns with a robust lineup of multiplatform releases. Sports fans have the NFL Street series successor NFL Tour to look forward to on the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3, while the Sonic Riders sequel Zero Gravity and the awaited comedic adventure title Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law will debut across multiple platforms. Games Released in Europe: PlayStation 2: - Buzz! The Schools Quiz Nintendo DS: - World Series of Poker 2008: Battle for the Bracelets PC: - PDC World Championship Darts 2008 While the United States bounces back after the holiday doldrums with a sizeable lineup, the UK will only see three new titles released in the coming week. Next week will see a much broader selection, however, with weekly releases scheduled to grow in number through the end of January. Games Released in Japan: Nintendo Wii: - Kateikyoushi Hitman Reborn! Dream Hyper Battle! Wii Nintendo DS: - Chishiki-Ou Series: Train Master PlayStation Portable: - Zero Shiki Kanjou Sentouki Ni Japan also appears to be suffering a slow recovery from the holiday season, as only three titles are scheduled to see Japanese release this week. As is the case in the UK, the bulk of this month's Japanese releases will come at the end of January, and next week is shaping up to offer a considerably larger lineup.
