Report: Sony To Launch PS3 In Malaysia

Sony Malaysia will officially launch the PlayStation 3 in that region on September 20 at a Petaling Jaya event, according to media reports. Though the company did not announce hardware or software pricing, it revealed that it will offer the 80GB PS3.

Sony Malaysia will officially launch the PlayStation 3 in the region on September 20, according to a report from Malaysian news site The Star Online. The release event will take place at the 1Utama shopping centre in Petaling Jaya, where Sony Malaysia will give away vouchers to attendees who show up early. The company also intends to sell 150 special launch packages consisting of one PS3 unit, a copy of Soul Calibur IV, a limited edition PS3 tote bag, and a Soul Calibur IV CD holder. Though Sony Malaysia did not announce hardware or software pricing, it revealed it will sell the 80GB PS3, with which Sony Korea debuted the system for its July 2007 South Korea launch.
