Today's round-up includes news on the CyberGlove II motion-capture device, a good deal of Narnia games shipped by Buena Vista, and a new dance title from Codemasters which is playable with any soundtrack, as well as today's product news, GameSetWatch highlights and Gamasutra job postings. - Immersion Corp. has shipped its CyberGlove II system for motion-capture data. The wireless glove is meant to give more feedback and information on movement during motion capture sessions, to increase efficiency for 3D artists working in video games and other related fields. "Higher quality motion capture data allows animators to create a more realistic and compelling animated production or to control digital characters with simple finger movements," said Immersion senior VP Mike Zuckerman. "Adding to these benefits, the new CyberGlove II glove is a very comfortable, easy-to-wear device that is now wireless." - Buena Vista Games has announced a milestone of 2 million copies shipped of its holiday title The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. The game, based on the upcoming movie -- which is itself based on C. S. Lewis' children's novel -- has become the biggest self-published title from Buena Vista Interactive, which only recently began its own game publishing operation rather than relying on partnerships with other companies. The game is available for multiple platforms, including PlayStation 2, Xbox, GameCube, PC, Nintendo DS, and Game Boy Advance. - Codemasters announced that Dance Factory, its peripheral-based music game, will be released in both Europe and North America in April 2006. The game uses a dance mat similar to Konami's Dance Dance Revolution, though its selling point is that players may use any CD in their collection with the game, rather than the preselected tracks included with the DDR series. The game includes an "Endurance" mode that requires players to make it through each track on an album. - Over at Gamasutra's newly launched sister game weblog GameSetWatch, new posts have been added including a look at the 1982 Atari Christmas catalog, GamerDad's discussion of gaming events from a child's view, and an academic paper on gaming l33tspeak, among others. - Also updated today: product news including NaturalMotion's release of the Endorphin Learning Edition, as well as today's Gamasutra job postings from companies including Activision, Amaze Entertainment, Backbone Entertainment, Blue Fang Games, Datascope Recruitment, Factor 5, Metrowerks Games Team at Freescale Semiconductor, Networking People, ProtonMedia, THQ, and Yuke's.
