Today's round-up includes news on Nintendo and Ubisoft's presence alongside Motorola at the Sundance Film Festival, the forthcoming opening of former Nintendo president Hiroshi Yamauchi's new museum, and Codemasters' new Korean MMO signing, as well as the latest GameSetWatch articles, plus today's product news and Gamasutra job postings. - Motorola will again have a presence at the Sundance Film Festival in its 2006 event; the "Moto on Main" booth will feature Motorola phones such as the RAZR and PEBL, and other consumer electronics from the company. In addition, partners such as sunglasses company Oakley and skin care company Kiehl's Since 1851 will be present at Motorola's exhibition, as well as Nintendo, which will display games from all three of its current platforms. Ubisoft will also work with Motorola to sponsor the Late Night Lounge event on January 21st. - Former Nintendo president Hiroshi Yamauchi, who ran the company during its initial transition from playing card company to reigning chiefs of the video game industry, will debut his new project on January 27th when the Shigureden Museum opens. Funded by Yamauchi's Ogura Hyakunin Isshu Project Foundation, the museum focuses on a type of matching game using cards with one half of a poem written on it, leaving the player to find the other half. The museum will use technological advances such as 45" LCD screens and, drawing on Yamauchi's Nintendo experience, dual-screened handheld devices with touch-screens for matching the cards. - Codemasters has acquired the North American and European distribution rights to ArchLord, a Korean MMORPG developed by NHN Games, following its previous distribution deal for Korean MMO RF Online. The game is in beta testing in its home territory, where players fight it out to become the ruler of the game world for periods of one month. "We are overjoyed to be working with the online gaming division at Codemasters to bring ArchLord to Western gamers," said NHN senior manager Jung Hwan Kim." The game will be released for PC in the third quarter of 2006. - Today's posts on Gamasutra sister weblog GameSetWatch include a discussion on Nintendo's possible Revolution world domination, a look at a very pastoral Swedish adventure game, and information on an editorial analyzing the problem of second-hand game sales, among others. - Also updated today: product news including Steel Monkeys' signing up to the Massive in-game ad network, plus the latest Gamasutra job postings from companies including Concrete Games, Eurocom, Factor 5, iBase Studios, Mythic Entertainment, Pronto Games, Sony Computer Entertainment America and THQ Studio Australia.
