Today's news round-up includes some corporate reshuffling for Grand Theft Auto publisher parent Take-Two Interactive, an upcoming speech by Atari co-founder Nolan Bushnell, and the American launch of Perplex City, plus the latest GameSetWatch posts and Gamasutra job postings. - Take-Two Interactive has reshuffled its sales personnel, according to an official statement. Former director of sales David Gershik has been promoted to vice president of field sales, in which capacity he will oversee all of Take-Two's North American field sales. Three new directors of sales have been named: former Canadian sales manager Karin Arnold, former regional sales manager Chris Snyder, and former national accounts manager Chris Armstrong. "We're extremely proud of our entire sales team, and this new sales structure reflects our confidence in the team's abilities to maximize Take-Two's position in the video game industry," said Take-Two CEO Paul Eibeler. - The Vancouver International Digital Festival organizers have secured Atari founder Nolan Bushnell to speak at the third annual Vidfest, from June 14-16, 2006. The topic of his presentation was not announced, but Bushnell will join other speakers including VRML co-inventor Mark Pesce and Dr. B.J. Fogg, design director at the Stanford Persuasive Technology Lab. "The buzz around VIDFEST has reached the tipping point – digital content gurus and business leaders make sure they pencil us in each year for mid-June," said New Media BC president Lynda Brown. "In turn, we’re able to score major speakers like Caterina Fake, co-founder of Flickr, one of Vancouver’s biggest new media success stories." - Mind Candy has announced that Perplex City, its card-based alternate reality game, is now available in North America through Internet retailer Insound.com. The ARG, already popular in Britain, was first announced for American release last month. To mark the game's launch, Insound is offering free shipping for purchases of four or more packs of cards, each of which sells for $5. - Recent posts on Gamasutra sister weblog GameSetWatch include news on developer Mind Control's Thwart Poker, an interview with Lucasarts alumnus Peter McConnell, and a report on how to kill spam with your feet. - Also updated today: the latest Gamasutra job postings, including openings from Electronic Arts Tiburon, Vivendi Universal, Midway Games, The Art Institute of California - San Francisco, and Irrational Games.
