Gamasutra's weekly column, "Saling The World", covers the top five sellers for every available platform in the United States, Japan, and Europe, providing an important update of sales patterns worldwide. This week's charts, with data taken from November 18th, 2010, find Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood competing with reigning chart leader Call of Duty: Black Ops in North America and Europe. Data for "Saling The World" comes courtesy of the public sales information on Amazon.com, Amazon.co.uk, and Amazon.co.jp, with sales split out for each platform and territory, and pre-orders disregarded. This results in a true sense of what games are selling worldwide on the real-time updated service, as follows: Multiplatform North America: 1. Call of Duty: Black Ops (Activision, X360), 2. Call of Duty: Black Ops (Activision, PS3), 3. Alan Wake - Limited Edition (Microsoft, X360), 4. Just Dance 2 (Ubisoft, Wii), 5. Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood (Ubisoft, X360). Japan: 1. Call of Duty: Black Ops - Subtitled Edition (Square Enix, PS3), 2. Call of Duty: Black Ops - Subtitled Edition (Square Enix, X360), 3. Tactics Ogre: Unmei no Wa (Square Enix, PSP), 4. Call of Duty: Black Ops tops North American software sales for the second week in a row, as Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood charts at fifth place in its debut week. Black Ops is also off to a strong sales start in Japan, unseating former cross-platform sales champ Tactics Ogre.
