Gamasutra's latest custom compiled Amazon.com charts find Heavy Rain topping PS3 sales in North America and the UK, as BioHazard 5 Alternative Edition leads the week's results in Japan.

Gamasutra's weekly column, "Saling The World", covers the top five sellers for every available platform in the United States, Japan, and Europe, providing an important update of sales patterns worldwide. This week's charts, with data taken from February 25th, 2010, find Heavy Rain topping PS3 sales in North America and the UK, as BioHazard 5 Alternative Edition leads the week's results in Japan. Data for "Saling The World" comes courtesy of the public sales information on Amazon.com, Amazon.co.uk, and Amazon.co.jp, with sales split out for each platform and territory, and pre-orders disregarded. This results in a true sense of what games are selling worldwide on the real-time updated service, as follows: Nintendo Wii North America: 1. Just Dance (Ubisoft), 2. Walk It Out! (Konami), 3. New Super Mario Bros. Wii (Nintendo), 4. Wii Sports Resort (Nintendo), 5. Wii Fit Plus with Balance Board (Nintendo). Japan: 1. New Super Mario Bros. Wii (Nintendo), 2. Wii Fit Plus with Balance Board (Nintendo), 3. Wii Sports Resort (Nintendo), 4. Wii Fit Plus (Nintendo), 5. Zangeki no Reginleiv (Nintendo). UK: 1. Just Dance (Ubisoft), 2. Wii Fit Plus with Balance Board (Nintendo), 3. Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games (Sega), 4. New Super Mario Bros. Wii (Nintendo), 5. Wii Fit Plus (Nintendo). Just Dance and Walk It Out! continue to lead Nintendo Wii software sales in the United States, as New Super Mario Bros. trails close behind. New Super Mario Bros. also remains a big seller in Japan, where Nintendo's region-exclusive action title Zangeki no Reginleiv drops from third to fifth place in today's sales rankings. Xbox 360 North America: 1. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (Activision), 2. BioShock 2 (2K Games), 3. Mass Effect 2 (EA Games), 4. Assassin's Creed II (Ubisoft), 5. Dante's Inferno (EA Games). Japan: 1. Borderlands (2K Games), 2. Espgaluda II Black Label (Cave), 3. Sacred 2 (Spike), 4. Steins;Gate (5pb), 5. Espgaluda II Black Label: Limited Edition (Cave). UK: 1. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 stays on top in the United States, with BioShock 2 remaining at second place. Mass Effect 2 follows at third, as Dante's Inferno makes its first chart appearance at fifth place. Borderlands is off to a chart-topping start in Japan, meanwhile, as Cave's arcade-ported shooter Espgaluda II Black Label takes two spots in the regional sales results. EverQuest II: Sentinel's Fate tops PC sales in North America for the second week in a row, edging out Mass Effect 2 and a returning Star Trek Online. Napoleon: Total War makes an impressive debut in the UK, meanwhile, pushing Football Manager 2010 and last week's chart champion Aliens vs. Predator to third and fourth place.
