Saling The World: Just Dance, Pokemon Lead Multiplatform Charts

Gamasutra's latest custom compiled Amazon.com charts find Just Dance heading Wii game sales in North America and the UK, as Pokemon SoulSilver and HeartGold continue to lead the DS charts.

Gamasutra's weekly column, "Saling The World", covers the top five sellers for every available platform in the United States, Japan, and Europe, providing an important update of sales patterns worldwide. This week's charts, with data taken from April 1st, 2010, find Just Dance heading Wii game sales in North America and the UK, as Pokemon SoulSilver and HeartGold continue to lead the DS charts. Data for "Saling The World" comes courtesy of the public sales information on Amazon.com, Amazon.co.uk, and Amazon.co.jp, with sales split out for each platform and territory, and pre-orders disregarded. This results in a true sense of what games are selling worldwide on the real-time updated service, as follows: Nintendo Wii North America: 1. Just Dance (Ubisoft), 2. New Super Mario Bros. Wii (Nintendo), 3. Wii Fit Plus with Balance Board (Nintendo), 4. Wii Sports Resort (Nintendo), 5. Wii Fit Plus (Nintendo). Japan: 1. New Super Mario Bros. Wii (Nintendo), 2. Wii Fit Plus with Balance Board (Nintendo), 3. Wii Sports Resort (Nintendo), 4. Mario Kart Wii (Nintendo), 5. Wii Fit Plus (Nintendo). UK: 1. Just Dance (Ubisoft), 2. New Super Mario Bros. Ubisoft's Just Dance retakes the Wii's top sales position in North America this week, with New Super Mario Bros. finishing close behind at second place. Just Dance also finishes as the UK's biggest seller across all platforms, while New Super Mario Bros. Wii stays on top in Japan. Xbox 360 North America: 1. BioShock 2 moves up to third place this week, as Wolfenstein returns to the top five following a steep price drop at Amazon. Modern Warfare 2 also leads this week's results in Japan, where 5pb's visual novel Chaos;Head Noah and its sequel lead over Koei's Fist of the North Star-branded Dynasty Warriors spinoff Hokuto Musou. Konami's baseball sim sequel Pro Yakyuu Spirits 2010 finishes as the platform's top seller in Japan, as last week's chart champion Ryu ga Gotoku 4 drops to fourth place. PC North America: 1. Blizzard takes over Amazon's PC sales charts this week following a day-long sale dedicated to the company's products. StarCraft Battle Chest heads the domestic charts, with World of Warcraft and its two expansions also ranking among the week's top sellers. Battlefield: Bad Company 2 spends its second week at the top in Japan, meanwhile, and overtakes The Sims 3 as the week's biggest seller in the UK. Nintendo DS North America: 1. Konami's Pro Yakyuu Spirits 2010 heads overall platform sales in Japan, while FIFA 10 keeps the top chart spot in the UK.
