Gamasutra's weekly column, "Saling The World", covers the top five sellers for every available platform in the United States, Japan, and Europe, providing an important update of sales patterns worldwide. This week's charts, with data taken from May 20th, 2010, find Rockstar's Red Dead Redemption leading multiplatform software sales in North America and the UK, as Dragon Quest Monsters 2 stays on top in Japan. Data for "Saling The World" comes courtesy of the public sales information on Amazon.com, Amazon.co.uk, and Amazon.co.jp, with sales split out for each platform and territory, and pre-orders disregarded. This results in a true sense of what games are selling worldwide on the real-time updated service, as follows: Nintendo Wii North America: 1. New Super Mario Bros. Wii (Nintendo), 2. Wii (Nintendo), 5. EA Sports Active (EA Sports). New Super Mario Bros. Wii tops the Nintendo Wii charts in North America this week. Konami's peripheral-bundled Dance Dance Revolution Hottest Party 3 also sees strong sales, thanks to a recent "Deal of the Day" price drop at Amazon. Red Dead Redemption premieres as this week's biggest software seller across all platforms in the United States and the UK, beating out longtime regional chart leaders New Super Mario Bros. Last week's domestic chart champion 3D Dot Game Heroes drops out of the top five in its second week of release, while World Soccer Winning Eleven 2010 premieres at the top of the charts in Japan. The Sims 3 continues its reign as North America's top PC seller this week, as Blizzard's StarCraft Battle Chest and Diablo Battle Chest see a sales spike in the wake of recent discounts in price at Amazon.
