This week's charts, with data taken from April 4th, 2009, find Resident Evil 5 and Professor Layton heading multiplatform sales in North America, while Pro Yakyuu Famista DS 2009 and Wii Fit lead in Japan. Data for "Saling The World" comes courtesy of the public sales information on Amazon.com, Amazon.co.uk, and Amazon.co.jp, with sales split out for each platform and territory, and pre-orders disregarded. Wii Music returns to top the Wii charts in this week's North American sales results, with Amazon reporting a surge of customer interest following a recent and temporary price drop. Mario Kart Wii takes a rare weekly victory over Wii Fit, while My Fitness Coach and Wii Play remain big regional sellers. In Japan, Mario Kart Wii overtakes Wii de Asobu: Pikmin in weekly sales numbers, as Machi e Ikouyo: Doubutsu no Mori (Animal Crossing: City Folk) and Taiko no Tatsujin Wii return to the regional top five at fourth and fifth place. Professor Layton's renewed momentum seems to be unstoppable, as the year-old title continues to lead weekly Nintendo DS sales in North America and Europe following a recent and successful worldwide advertising campaign. Kirby Super Star Ultra also sees a strong sales performance in the U.S. this week following a drop in price at Amazon, while Pokemon Platinum finishes its second week on store shelves at third place. Namco's premiering baseball sim Pro Yakyuu Famista DS 2009 takes first place in Japan, pushing last week's sales champion Rittai Picross to third place. Gakken's educational title Gakken Hangul Sanmai DS debuts this week at fourth place, while Elminage DS Remix finishes up at fifth. PlayStation Portable North America: 1.
