Gamasutra's latest exclusively compiled Amazon.com charts find Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 and Grand Slam Tennis topping Wii sales in the United States, while Gyakuten Kenji and Mugen Kouro lead in Japan.
Gamasutra's weekly column, "Saling The World", covers the top five sellers for every available platform in the United States, Japan, and Europe, providing an important update of sales patterns worldwide. This week's charts, with data taken from June 11th, 2009, find Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 and Grand Slam Tennis topping Wii sales in the United States, while Gyakuten Kenji and Mugen Kouro lead in Japan. Data for "Saling The World" comes courtesy of the public sales information on Amazon.com, Amazon.co.uk, and Amazon.co.jp, with sales split out for each platform and territory, and pre-orders disregarded. This results in a true sense of what games are selling worldwide on the real-time updated service, as follows: Nintendo Wii North America: 1. EA Sports has a tight grip on this week's North American Wii sales charts thanks to the popularity of the recently released Wii MotionPlus accessory. The MotionPlus-bundled Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 joins EA Sports Active at the top of the charts this week, while the MotionPlus-compatible Grand Slam Tennis debuts at fifth place. In Japan, Arc Rise Fantasia falls to second place in favor of renewed demand for Wii Fit, as a remake of Chibi-Robo! places third in its first week of release. Xbox 360 North America: 1. A promotional price drop at Amazon puts Call of Duty 4 at the top Xbox 360 sales spot this week in the United States. UFC 2009 Undisputed climbs up past LittleBigPlanet to take third in this week's rankings, while Killzone 2 hangs on at fifth place. Shin Sangoku Musou 5 Empires tops Japanese sales for the second week running, as Senjou no Valkyria again finishes at second place.
